Following news that Silversea Cruises will welcome the new Silver Moon in 2020, the luxury cruise line has revealed plans to enhance its existing Silver Whisper and Silver Wind. The ships will be refurbished this December to keep them more consistent with the brand’s latest Silver Muse.
“Silver Muse has been a sophisticated inspirational milestone for our brand,” said Roberto Martinoli, Silversea’s CEO, in a press release. “We are confident that the comprehensive makeover we have planned for Silver Wind and Silver Whisper will enhance the onboard experience and be equally appreciated by our guests.”
Silver Whisper will first undergo technical improvements while its public spaces will also be redesigned as inspired by the Muse. Included will be new carpets and other updates in La Terrazza as well as enhancements to the Observation and Panorama lounges.
Silver Wind will be comparably upgraded in line with the Muse. Public venues will be newly stylized extending to reupholstered chairs and new carpets in the casino and fresh flooring in the spa and beauty salon.
The revitalization is part of a fleet-wide enhancement program Silversea began in late 2016.
In fact, the Whisper was already updated quite a bit ahead of its world cruise at the start of this year. Suites and restaurants, as well as Connoisseur’s Corner, Panorama Lounge, Observation Lounge, Spa and Beauty Salon and the pool deck were previously enhanced.

The Silver Wind and Silver Discoverer have also been dramatically touched up in the recent past, and the Silver Cloud is preparing to relaunch as part of the Silversea Expeditions fleet by November 2017. Additional announcements regarding the enhancement program are expected soon.
By 2020, the main fleet will consist of the Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper, Silver Spirit, Silver Muse and Silver Moon; plus the Silver Explorer, Silver Galapagos, Silver Discoverer and Silver Cloud expedition ships—an impressive total of ten vessels.
Enhancement programs such as these ensure guests on the oldest-built Discoverer and Explorer will have a quality experience similar to that on the newest-constructed Moon.
