Seabourn is improving its onboard online experience with its new Seabourn Source web app.

It comes at a time when corporate cousin Holland America Line has also recently updated its Navigator portal.

“Intuitive, personalized service is at the core of Seabourn, and the launch of Seabourn Source represents another example of our goal to continue to provide a smooth and seamless service for our guests to enjoy,” said Gerald Mosslinger, Seabourn’s vice president of hotel operations, in a press release.

“Seabourn Source will enhance our guests’ onboard and shoreside experience, allowing them to easily navigate and identify the information they need to plan their days and nights with just a few clicks on their personal device.”

Guests aboard the luxury cruise line will be able to complimentarily access shipboard information on their smartphones, tablets and laptops. Most notable features include the following:

—Daily activity and entertainment schedule listings

—Onboard dining menus and restaurant meal times

—Port arrival and departure times

—Spa treatment and wellness class information

—Shore excursion browsing and booking

—Shipboard account record viewing

—Paid satellite internet connection

Additionally, the app can reach PressReader Offline so passengers can freely download over 2,500 international newspapers and magazines to their iOS or Android mobile devices. Even more features are expected in the coming months.

Seabourn Source can be easily accessed by connecting to the onboard Wi-Fi network and opening a web browser. It does not require a dedicated app to be downloaded ahead of time nor does it incur any internet or cellular charges.

This makes it closer to Holland America Line’s Navigator than corporate cousin Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival HUB mobile app. Holland America’s can also be pulled up via browser on most smartphones, tablets or laptops. Its guests can access deck plans, frequently asked questions and free internet sites.

Cruise lines recognize the importance of not only staying connected to the outside world but to the ship itself, and apps like Seabourn’s allow guests to stay on top of all the details so they can more effectively relax the rest of the time.
