Quantum of the Seas Construction Goes Vertical

It’s always exciting for us at Popular Cruising to see the continued construction progress of cruise ships around the world, and the Quantum of the Seas from Royal Caribbean International is beginning to take shape above the keel now at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.

The cruise line just released the great video below showing off the status of the innovative new cruise ship which includes impressive shots of Two70° – a new two-deck glass-enclosed wraparound observation and show lounge at the ship’s stern (as seen in the header above). Eagle eyes will note pits in the first deck of the venue for different show elements as well as the bases for the vertical supports that will frame the exterior glass panels. The initial application of the Royal Caribbean International logo is also featured.

Plus, Dhani Jones – former NFL linebacker and traveler himself – has joined celebrity interior designer Genevieve Gorder as one of the Quantum Experience Advisors. He will be overseeing onboard sports and fitness and is featured in another video below.

The Quantum of the Seas is scheduled to launch in November 2014 with her sister ship, the Anthem of the Seas, set to follow in April 2015. For more information on the Quantum-class of cruise ships, visit the Royal Caribbean International website here.
