Oceania Cruises has announced that it will introduce Sirena (rendered above) to the cruise line’s fleet in 2016. The existing Ocean Princess and former Renaissance Cruises ship will be purchased from Princess Cruises to be transformed into Sirena starting in March 2016. The vessel will be a sister ship to Oceania’s current Insignia, Nautica and Regatta.
Immediately following the transfer, the vessel will undergo a 35-day $40-million refurbishment in France to convert it for Oceania Cruises. Mimicking Insignia‘s recent improvements, Sirena will feature the line’s Toscana and Polo Grill specialty restaurants, Baristas, and the cook-to-order grill at Terrace Cafe.
Oceania Cruises states, “The addition of Sirena, along with the recently completed refurbishment of Insignia, Nautica and Regatta, demonstrates Oceania Cruises’ unwavering commitment to mid-size ships and destination orientated cruising. With Sirena, Oceania Cruises will expand the number and diversity of destination-rich itineraries offered, appealing to both seasoned world travelers and passionate cruisers.”

Sirena’s maiden voyage will be an extraordinary 14-night cruise from Barcelona to Venice on April 27, 2016. The inaugural season features an entirely new lineup of 10- to 14-day voyages, artfully blended with a mix of classic and new destinations throughout the Mediterranean, including two voyages venturing as far west as Seville and Lisbon. The ship will visit an impressive 11 new locales for Oceania Cruises, such as the famed beaches of Gaeta (Italy), pristine rainforest of Golfito (Costa Rica) and well-preserved provincial township of La Paz (Mexico).
