Norwegian Cruise Line‘s next generation of cruise ships is on the way with the upcoming Norwegian Escape, a larger version of the popular Norwegian Breakaway and Getaway. The cruise line revealed new renderings (like that of 678 Ocean Place’s atrium above) and details about the vessel today including returning favorites and all new features. The cruise ship is currently under construction with a scheduled delivery of October 2015.

Carried over from the Breakaway and Getaway will be The Waterfront and 678 Ocean Place for innovative indoor and outdoor dining, shopping and entertainment along the seafaring boardwalk. Norwegian’s signature specialty dining such as La Cucina for Italian, Moderno Churrascaria for Brazilian, and Cagney’s Steakhouse will be highlighted here.

“The Waterfront and 678 Ocean Place have revolutionized the industry, receiving rave reviews from our guests and travel partners,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “We knew from the start that Norwegian Escape should also feature this game-changing design. With this new, larger ship, we’ve taken the concept up another notch and we’ve added some additional interesting venues and features.”

A new feature onboard will be a unique group dining venue accommodating up to 100 guests called the Private Room at Taste. The new restaurant will be part of the complimentary Taste main dining room and will be situated just below it. The restaurant will include its own entrance and lounge as well as the private dining area.

“We recognized the need to be able to accommodate groups onboard and have addressed that with a private dining space,” added Sheehan. “In addition, we have many new dining, lounging and entertainment spaces in the works that will take our revolutionary Freestyle Cruising and ensure it remains unmatched in the industry. In the coming months, we will announce more of these exciting features.”

Expanded since the Breakaway and Getaway will be the 19,000 square foot Escape Casino. Besides 357 slot machines and 28 gaming tables will be the new Skyline Bar lounge right in the casino with video poker, entertainment, and immersive and scenic LED screens. New to the ship’s main atrium will also be a portrait studio for professional sittings.

The Manhattan Room main restaurant is also reprised from the Norwegian Breakaway with slightly different decor than that found on her predecessor. Rounding out other returning favorites are the complimentary and 24-7 O’Sheehan’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill for sports on the two-deck screen and various video games; Savor main dining; Mixx Bar; Teppanyaki hibachi-style dining; Le Bistro for elegant French cuisine; Prime Meridian bar; and the Bar at The Atrium.
