Norwegian Cruise Line Orders Two Additional Breakaway Plus Ships

Following the success of the new Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway, Norwegian Cruise Line today announced the order of two more Breakaway Plus-class ships, this in addition to the Norwegian Escape under construction and Norwegian Bliss already on order.

Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway have proven themselves as industry game-changers and are extremely popular with our guests,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “It was only natural that we build on their success with this new ship order that further solidifies our long-term growth strategy.”

The two new as-of-yet-unnamed ships will be delivered in 2018 and 2019 respectively, bringing the total count of 4,200 passenger Breakaway Plus-class vessels to four. As for the other two, the Norwegian Escape will set sail in the fall of 2015 and the Norwegian Bliss will follow in the spring of 2017.

The four Breakaway Plus-class vessels will be larger versions of the existing Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway. For more information on the new cruise ships, visit Norwegian Cruise Line‘s website here.
