Norwegian Cruise Line Announces New Activities on Upcoming Norwegian Escape

Just after it was revealed that Norwegian Cruise Line‘s next cruise ship, the Norwegian Escape, would feature the first Margaritaville at Sea, the company announces even more new activities that will be onboard. Highlights include the largest ropes course ever on a cruise ship, new Aqua Racer tandem water slide, and unique Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed mini-golf course (rendered above).

“Building on the tremendous success of our Breakaway-class ships, we are delivering bigger thrills and more action-packed activities for our largest ship to date,” said Drew Madsen, president and chief operating officer of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From the extraordinary Sky Rails on the expanded Ropes Course to the exciting Aqua Racer slide, guests sailing on Norwegian Escape will have the family adventure of a lifetime. We can’t wait for our guests to experience these incredible new activities.”

Another expanded venue is the Kid’s Aqua Park complete with a new two-story water play structure and enclosed tube slide. Interactive elements also abound such as water cannons and elevated drenching buckets. Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star and Dora the Explorer return for the ride. Also for the first time on Norwegian Cruise Line, the Escape will offer nursery services to kids ages six months to three years in a dedicated facility.

To best illustrate the forthcoming shipboard attractions, the cruise line released a video featuring the new Norwegian Escape activities (as seen below):
