Updated: Sep 16, 2022

EDITOR’S NOTE: My mom and contributing writer at Popular Cruising, Darlene Leppert, returns with her fun column, Never Bored Onboard, and an evaluation of the 2014 Dancing with the Stars: At Sea champions cruise…

Never Bored Onboard: Holland America Line’s Dancing with the Stars: At Sea is continued below…

More Cruise Reviews from the Holland America Line’s Westerdam, Dancing with the Stars: At Sea Champions Cruise 2014 sailing:

Even though our current Holland America Line sailing on the Westerdam is all about the Dancing with the Stars: At Sea champions cruise, there is still plenty more to do onboard.

The usual activities are here such as bingo, art auctions, jewelry seminars, trivia, port lectures, gambling in the casino, and liquor tastings, just to name a few. Holland America Line also offers classes for improving one’s computer skills using Windows-based technology as their format of choice.

The Culinary Arts Center on the Westerdam is a wonderful venue from which to view the fun and informative cooking shows presented by the renowned chefs featured in the ship’s main dining room and specialty restaurants. Even the Head Baker showed off his delicious cinnamon rolls! So yummy!!

Kym Johnson, a professional Dancing with the Stars dancer, onboard to help judge as well as perform, also offers a special workout time that takes the passengers through her fun Dancing with the Stars: At Sea Cardio Dance Workout. This workout is featured on her new, fast selling fitness DVD as well.

The usual abundant dance classes were not available on this cruise. However, Sharna Burgess did host one, and there are still plenty of opportunities for guests to dance on their own throughout the ship’s elegant venues. Plus, the Dancing with the Stars: At Sea guest finalists compete in 4 championship rounds. Each round consequently eliminates 5, 4, and 3 finalists until just 3 are left to compete for their very own Mirror Ball trophy on the last night of the cruise.

This Dancing with the Stars: At Sea cruise is VERY popular and has been enthusiastically received by all of the passengers, some of whom were even on the very first champions cruise this past January, this cruise, and are also already booked on next year’s on January 16, 2016.

If you are a fan of the TV show Dancing With the Stars, then these cruises are for you! You will be amazed at the dance talent of the pros and guest competitors! Once again Holland America Line has brought an innovative and exciting type of entertainment to the sea!

Come join us and see what time at sea is all about. We KNOW you won’t be disappointed by what Holland America Line has to offer!
