Margaritaville Set to Board Norwegian Cruise Line’s Next Norwegian Escape

Norwegian Cruise Line, with the help of none other than Jimmy Buffett himself (pictured center above), has just announced that the first Margaritaville at Sea will set sail aboard the company’s forthcoming Norwegian Escape (rendered below). Also ready to debut onboard in 2015 will be the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar and music venue at The Waterfront.

“Jimmy Buffett is an icon who embodies the island lifestyle, and his Margaritaville lifestyle brand which includes restaurants and bars in its portfolio is a perfect fit for Norwegian Cruise Line and the incredible new Norwegian Escape, that will sail the Caribbean and offer our guests the first and only Margaritaville experience at sea,” said Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Kevin Sheehan. “We are more than thrilled to form this exclusive partnership with Jimmy and his talented team and we know our guests are going to love the new tropical experiences.”

Margaritaville will be one of the cruise ship’s many complimentary dining venues and will feature signature menu items like the Cheeseburger in Paradise as well as classics like the Who’s to Blame Margarita from the bar.

The  5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar will arrive at The Waterfront al fresco boardwalk as a music venue and outdoor bar serving live performances of tropical sounds in the evenings and “boat drinks” to match.

The partnership between Margaritaville and Norwegian Cruise Line will even extend to the line’s destinations and expanded fleet. Branded food and drink locations will be available on Harvest Caye, Belize come fall 2015, and a 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar is set to take up shop on Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas also in 2015. The partnership will apply to other Norwegian Cruise Line ships in the future as well.

The 4,200-guest Norwegian Escape will embark on 7-day cruises year-round from her homeport of Miami, Florida to the Eastern Caribbean starting on November 14, 2015.
