Besides the guest competition, the highlights of Dancing with the Stars: At Sea theme cruises – those Holland America Line sailings that are joined by actual pro dancers and celebrities from the popular TV show – are the onboard production show and fashion show.
Both were just enjoyed by the passengers of this week’s Caribbean cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam, and they were sizzling performances to say the least.

Dancing with the Stars: At Sea – Production Show
Even for fans of the hit show, you’ve never quite seen Dancing with the Stars until you’ve seen it live. There’s an unmistakable energy that permeates the entire show lounge when the pros take to the onboard stage. Only on Holland America Line can you have this opportunity plus interact with the cast.

The production show opens with video introductions from none other than Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman, two of the three judges on the TV show, before quickly segueing into live dances. Styles vary according to which stars are onboard in order to highlight their signature moves.

In between dances from the pros and celebs are comedic interludes from Carson Kressley and other kinetic dance demonstrations from the Dancing with the Stars traveling troupe. Even season 17 pro Emma Slater came up through the ranks of troupe performing during last year’s theme cruises before returning onboard in her new capacity.

The current sailing features pro dancers Tristan MacManus, Kym Johnson, Derek Hough, Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater along with celebrities Joey Fatone, Sabrina Bryan and Carson Kressley. The performers spare no energy and give it their all and then some, leaving guests most satisfied by the hour long showcase.

Dancing with the Stars: At Sea – Fashion Show
The production show spotlights a number of signature dresses straight from the TV show, but the fashion show is where dozens are paraded up close. Hosted by Kym Johnson and Carson Kressley, the show turns the aft pool deck into a circular catwalk so that every guest can get a glimpse of the artistry.

Last night, Emma Slater, Sharna Burgess and the ship’s company of female dancers and singers modeled a wide range of fashions as Kym and Carson gave running commentary on each dress. In fact, many of the dresses were ones that were just worn during the latest season of the TV show.

As this is Dancing with the Stars, the models don’t merely strut and disappear from the spotlight, but rather they dance along the path and in position for awhile to give the dresses a good workout and colorful display. The dresses and lovely ladies surely speak for themselves.
