We’re currently on the Carnival Imagination from Carnival Cruise Lines to cover one of the Carnival LIVE sailings featuring Styx. Just last night was the band’s onboard concert, and, as you can see in the photos below, the band seriously rocked the ship.

Carnival LIVE is the cruise line’s new concert series and is essentially a form of specialty entertainment. Just like with specialty dining, an extra nominal charge affords passengers additional onboard experiences – in this case, exclusive concerts from a wonderful list of musicians.

Depending on the artist, $20-40 will buy you a regular ticket to a concert onboard select Carnival sailings in the ship’s main show lounge. VIP tickets are similarly available for $100-150 and include a special lanyard, photo meet-and-greet with the band, and preferred seating.

Regular Ticket Tip
For those with regular tickets, keep in mind that seating is made available on a first-come first-served basis. For the Styx concert, ticket holders began lining up at least two hours ahead of time, so be sure to show up early.

VIP Ticket Tip
The exclusive meet-and-greet with the band is available to about 100 or so guests that can lineup for a photo and then move to the theater to take a seat within about the first three rows. Keep in mind that the sooner you get your photo taken, the closer you will be able to get to the stage.
