Carnival Dream Does Fun Ship 2.0

For Carnival Dream, it’s in with the new and out with the old as she takes on the features of Carnival Cruise Lines’ Fun Ship 2.0 program – the line’s fleet-wide $500 million improvement initiative. The Dream began her 14-day dry-dock period just this last weekend when she will see the conversion of ship spaces (such as that pictured below) into new favorites like the RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar.

The two new bars will serve up themed experiences. First, the RedFrog Rum Bar’s Caribbean atmosphere will host rum-based cocktails as expected but also Carnival’s house draft beer, ThirstyFrog Red. Second, the Mexican BlueIguana Tequila Bar will be home to tequila concoctions, margaritas and cervezas. Similar to the shoreside Señor Frog’s franchise, each bar playfully features a titular animal mascot (as seen in the logos below). The Carnival Dream will also be garnished with a Cherry on Top, the ship’s new retail space that will offer candies, clothing and other fun knick knacks.

The Carnival Dream will return to her continual weeklong Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral, Florida on September 22nd, 2012. Looking beyond the Dream, these new venues are also scheduled to be added to the Carnival ConquestGlory and Sunshine by April 2013.
