Carnival Cruise Lines and Holland America Line Order New Ships

Carnival Corporation recently announced that it has ordered two new cruise ships – one each for its Carnival Cruise Lines and Holland America Line brands. The new Carnival vessel will be a sister ship to the Carnival Vista (keel laying pictured above), and the new Holland America vessel will be a sister ship to the Koningsdam (rendered inset above).

Both new cruise ships will be built by Fincantieri, where the first of each ship class is already under construction for both brands. The sister ship to the Carnival Vista, itself set for delivery in spring 2016, will carry 3,954 passengers and launch in March 2018. Carnival Vista details will be announced at the end of January 2015.

The new ship scheduled for Holland America Line will be a second Pinnacle-class ship to Koningsdam launching in February 2016. The second 2,650-guest vessel will set sail in November 2018. A number of Koningsdam features have already been announced and can be reviewed by clicking here.

“These beautiful new ships on order from Fincantieri signify our ongoing commitment to provide the best possible guest experience across our industry-leading brands,” said Arnold Donald, President & CEO of Carnival Corporation. “New ships with the latest in features, accommodations and innovations really bring the modern cruise experience to life and will help us continue to grow new demand for cruising.”
