It has certainly been the week for cruise ship refurbishment and construction news, and Azamara Club Cruises is in on the excitement as well. The line announced on its blog plans to update both the Azamara Quest and the Azamara Journey.
The ships will be receiving new carpets and upholstery as well as a resurfaced pool plus new sun loungers and pool towels. The biggest aesthetic upgrade will be a new paint scheme on the vessels with dark blue hulls. Whether or not the new color will be applied in broken up bands of blue and white like the ships of Azamara’s sister brand, Celebrity Cruises, or painted in full like the ships of Holland America Line is still to be seen. Either way, this is an interesting brand image development for Azamara Club Cruises.
The dining experience onboard will be improved with a new caviar and champagne bar at Aqualina and a new Chef’s Table concept complete with Italian, French and Californian wine degustation menus. The Mosaic Café and Discoveries Restaurant and Lounge will shine with new colors, and the Casino Bar will sport new furniture and a larger bar. Nespresso coffee will also now be available onboard.
Additionally, the staterooms and suites will be getting new mattresses and balcony furniture, the spa will see an upgraded steam room and showers, and the fitness center will feature new Life Fitness cardio equipment. Pleasing to both guests and crew will be the redesigned captain’s quarters with room for cocktail parties by invitation, and supporting the crew that serves the passengers will be improved recreation areas for them to enjoy.
The Azamara Quest will be under refurbishment on November 7-15, 2012, and the Azamara Journey will be under refurbishment on January 6-13, 2013. For more information regarding Azamara Club Cruises, visit the line’s website by clicking here.
