Azamara Club Cruises Plans Remodel of Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest

While not the new-build announcement that has been expected from Azamara Club Cruises, the line has indicated plans for an extensive bow-to-stern remodel of its existing fleet consisting of the Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest in early 2016. No area will go untouched, and major areas to be redesigned include the ships’ staterooms and suites as well as dining and entertainment. The Sanctum Spa and new technologies will also be introduced.

Azamara describes the elemental changes according to its brand of Destination Immersion as follows:

Earth – A muted color palette of earth tones is being incorporated throughout our ships to evoke a serene, elegant, and warm sense of home. Water – Azamara’s new spa suites will feature rain showers with ocean views, double vanities, and outdoor Jacuzzi tubs overlooking the sea. Air – To freshly entice the senses, we’re introducing new open-air venues and experiences, including an Asian al fresco restaurant. Fire – Sunrises and sunsets will be relished at the new outdoor Pool Grill & Bar, followed by dazzling nights in our completely revitalized entertainment areas.

Staterooms and Suites

All accommodations onboard will be completely transformed, using, according to Azamara, “rich woods, custom-made textiles, organically inspired accents, and a natural color scheme with silver accents to create a fresh and elegant feel.”

Dining and Entertainment

While there is no word yet on what existing spaces might be making way to facilitate these venues, a new wine and tapas bar, al fresco Asian restaurant and open-air Chef’s Grill are planned. Azamara says, “there will be new worlds of flavors and experiences to enjoy.”

The Sanctum Spa

Following the Ayurvedic method to balance the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual, The Sanctum Spa will be a newly converted space that is described by Azamara as both, “soothing and contemporary.” A private outdoor deck will even be reserved for certain spa services.

Technology

In addition to ship-wide Wi-Fi and a new Azamara Guest App for managing voyage details and accessing interactive media, there will be a new lounge onboard featuring several 84″ screens with pop-up content for exploring regions of the world.
