Introducing Norwegian’s Breakaway Plus

Norwegian Cruise Line just announced the order of another brand new cruise ship on its Facebook page today, and it’s not a third Breakaway-class ship following the Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway. Rather, this ship will be a new Breakaway Plus-class ship (rendered above) sizing in at 163,000 gross tons – nearly 19,000 tons larger than the still under construction Breakaway-class ships. The as yet unnamed 4,200-passenger vessel will feature many of the impressive innovations slated for the upcoming Norwegian Breakaway and will likely up the ante even further. The Norwegian Plus cruise ship will accommodate 4,200 passengers and be constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany where Norwegian Cruise Line also has an option for a second ship in this new class and where the Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway are currently being built.

The Norwegian Breakaway Plus-class will arrive in October of 2015, but before that we have the original Norwegian Breakaway to look forward to in May of 2013 followed next by the Norwegian Getaway in the spring of 2014.
