Special Carnival LIVE Performance with Martina McBride

A few weeks ago, we wrote about our upcoming Live Voyage Report aboard Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Freedom as she makes her first Western Caribbean run from her new homeport of Galveston, Texas. Now, Carnival has released details on just how they’re going to welcome Galveston’s newest year-round ship – and how they’re going to give back at the same time.

On February 14, Carnival Cruise Line will host a celebration to honour U.S. military families through their unique partnership with non-profit organization Operation Homefront. Carnival will host an event onboard Carnival Freedom that will feature a day of fun and activities for military service members and their families that will culminate with a special outdoor Carnival LIVE performance by 14-time Grammy-nominated country music singer, Martina McBride.
“The arrival of Carnival Freedom to its new Galveston homeport is historic as it marks the first time a cruise line has based three year-round ships in Texas,” said Jim Berra, chief marketing officer for Carnival Cruise Line. “We’re thrilled to celebrate this occasion by giving back to the great state of Texas and welcoming aboard military families who make our freedom possible.”
During the festivities, Carnival will invite families to enjoy a full day and evening aboard the Carnival Freedom during her first overnight stay at the Port of Galveston. In addition, Carnival will present a cheque for $100,000 to Operation Homefront.
